What is the Eligibility for RPSC RAS 2026 Recruitment?
Educational Qualification
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) from any university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government. Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply for the Preliminary Examination, but must produce proof of having acquired the degree before the Main Examination. Anyone holding a graduate degree in any subject can apply.

What is the Salary for RPSC RAS 2026?
Salary is paid as per the Rajasthan 7th CPC Pay Matrix, depending on the service group and post you are selected for. The matrix range across all 47 posts is shown below.

Approximate monthly basic salary range: Rs. 33,800 (entry of L-10) to Rs. 1,51,100 (top of L-14).
In addition to basic pay, selected officers receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, NPS contribution, Medical benefits and other allowances as admissible under Rajasthan Service Rules. After selection as RAS, you also become eligible for promotion to senior administrative posts including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre over time.
What is the Selection Process for RPSC RAS 2026?
Selection happens in four clear stages. The Preliminary Examination is only a screening test — its marks are not counted in the final merit. Final merit is decided by Mains marks (800) plus Interview marks (100). You can review the full exam syllabus and pattern before starting preparation.
- Preliminary Examination (Screening) — One objective paper, General Knowledge & General Science, 200 marks, 3 hours, 5-option MCQs with negative marking of one-third per wrong answer. Standard: Bachelor’s degree level.
