Educational Qualification

Experience

As per Government of India / Ministry of Education norms for the respective faculty cadres. Only regular position experience with the prescribed pay scale (minimum 6 months) is counted; part-time, daily-wage, visiting, guest or temporary faculty experience does not count.

Age Limit

There is no fixed minimum or maximum age limit. Fresh appointments beyond 60 years are encouraged only for distinguished candidates with an impactful industry-oriented R&D career. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD is as per Government of India norms.

Salaries follow the 7th CPC Academic Pay Levels with substantial allowances on top of basic pay.

What is the Selection Process for NIT Surathkal Faculty 2026?

Selection is multi-stage and rigorous, designed to test both teaching ability and research depth.
