Eligibility Criteria for NMDC Apprenticeship

Educational Qualification

  • Trade Apprentices: Must possess an ITI Trade Certificate (National Trade Certificate / State Trade Certificate) from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institution in the respective trade (Machinist, Fitter, Welder, Mechanic Diesel, MMV, Electrician, COPA).
  • Graduate Apprentices: Must possess a Degree in Engineering/Technology (in Chemical, Computer, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mining, or Civil) OR a Degree in Pharmacy Science (for Pharmacy) OR a Degree in BBA (for BBA) from a Government recognized university/institute.
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Must possess a Diploma Certificate in Engineering/Technology (in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mining) from a Government recognized university/institute.

Age Limit

  • Candidates should not be less than 16 years of age as on the date of notification (26/10/2025).

Other Essential Requirements

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible.
  • Candidates having job experience of more than one year after obtaining their qualification are not eligible.
  • A crucial condition is that the gap between the date of passing the qualifying exam and the date of contract creation on the apprentice portal must not be more than 5 years.
  • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) categories must produce their original caste certificate in the prescribed format (as given in the notification) at the time of the interview to be considered for reserved seats.
