Agniveer Vayu Sports Salary and Benefits (2025)

The financial package for an Agniveer Vayu (Sports) is structured to be highly attractive and secure. It’s more than just a salary; it’s a comprehensive benefits plan. The monthly emolument is termed the “Agniveer Package.” For the first year, this package is ₹30,000. This amount sees a fixed yearly increment, ensuring financial growth throughout the four-year engagement period.

A key feature is the Seva Nidhi Package, a terminal benefit designed to provide a substantial lump sum upon completion of service. From the monthly package, 30% (₹9,000 in the first year) is contributed to a dedicated Agniveer Corpus Fund. The Government of India makes an equal, matching contribution to this fund every month. The remaining 70% (₹21,000 in the first year) is the in-hand salary.

Here’s the yearly breakdown:

  • 1st Year: Monthly Package: ₹30,000 (In-Hand: ₹21,000)
  • 2nd Year: Monthly Package: ₹33,000 (In-Hand: ₹23,100)
  • 3rd Year: Monthly Package: ₹36,500 (In-Hand: ₹25,550)
  • 4th Year: Monthly Package: ₹40,000 (In-Hand: ₹28,000)

After four years, the total contribution in the Agniveer Corpus Fund will be approximately ₹5.02 lakhs from the individual and a matching ₹5.02 lakhs from the government. This results in a total Seva Nidhi Package of approximately ₹10.04 lakhs (plus accrued interest), which is tax-free.

Beyond the salary, Agniveers are entitled to:

  • Allowances: Risk & Hardship, Dress, and Travel allowances as applicable in the IAF.
  • Perks: Ration, clothing, and accommodation.
  • Insurance: A non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakhs.
  • Leave: 30 days of annual leave.
  • Medical & CSD: Full medical facilities at Service Hospitals and CSD provisions.
