Eligibility Criteria for UPPSC Recruitment 2025

Educational Qualification

For Statistics Officer:

• A Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Commerce, Economics, or Statistics with a minimum of 55% marks from a University established by Law in India.
• OR, a two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Statistics from an institute recognized by the Government.
• Proficiency in Hindi (Devnagri script) is mandatory.
• Several equivalent qualifications are also listed in the official notification (Appendix-2).

For Assistant Geologist:

• A Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a University established by law in India OR a Diploma from the Indian School of Mines & Applied Geology, Dhanbad in Applied Geology with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Age Limit (as on 1st July 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 40 Years

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as per the government rules applicable to candidates who are domiciles of Uttar Pradesh.

• SC/ST/OBC/Skilled Players/State Govt. Employees of U.P.: 5 years relaxation.
• Physically Handicapped (P.H.) Candidates: 15 years relaxation.
• Ex-Army Personnel: 3 years + period of service rendered in the army.

Selection Process

The selection process for the posts will be conducted in the following stages:

1. Screening Test (Written Exam): If a large number of applications are received, the commission may conduct an objective-type screening test to shortlist candidates. There will be a penalty for wrong answers (negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer).
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.

How to Apply for UPPSC Recruitment 2025

The application process is entirely online. Candidates must follow the steps below to successfully apply.

Step 1: One-Time Registration (OTR)

• It is mandatory for all applicants to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process on the UPPSC OTR portal.
• If you haven’t completed OTR, you must do so at least 72 hours before the application deadline.
• After registration, you will receive an OTR number, which is essential for applying.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

• Visit the official UPPSC website.
• Click on “ALL NOTIFICATIONS/ADVERTISEMENTS” and find the advertisement for the posts (D-3/E-1/2025).
• Click on “Apply” and authenticate using your OTR number.
• Your personal details will be auto-filled. You will need to fill in the details of your essential and preferential qualifications for the post you are applying for.

Step 3: Pay Application Fee

• Proceed to the payment gateway (SBI MOPS).
• Pay the application fee using Net Banking, Card Payments, or other available modes.
• Take a printout of the payment transaction slip for future reference.

• After successful fee payment, review your application form using the “Preview” option.

Step 5: Send Hard Copy
